CNN iReport: Horror Author Lia Scott Price's Comic Book Series brings back vicious, but edgier, Vampires

Torrance, CA, April 2013. Horror Author Lia Scott Price is steadily working to bring back a "more vicious, brutal, psychotic and bloody Vampire".

And she ups the creep factor further, adding an edgy twist by turning an everyday Guardian Angel into a Vampire.

Price has been steadily promoting this goal through her "Vampire Guardian Angels™" comic book series, drawn by Artists Andrew Setter and Colorist/Letterer Chad Hammontree. Price turned her Vampire Trilogy Novel "The Guardian, Revenant, and Dominion", featuring her unique Vampire Guardian Angel characters into 24-page fully-illustrated comic books.

Each story follows the transformation of the characters from helpful Guardian Angel to evil Vampire. Corresponding to each of the 3 stories from the novel, Issue #1 "The Guardian" features a peek at how Guardian Angels became vicious vampires. Issue #2 "Revenant" provides more insight into the character's transformation and motives, and Issue #3 "Dominion" reveals their true origins.

Price also features local bands in her comic books. Los Angeles Death Metal Band Enthraller (enthraller.net) and metal band Death Embraced (reverbnation.com/deathembraced7) make cameos as vampires.

Price is already working on more new sequels and will be introducing new stories and characters to the series. For more info on the comic book series, visit liascottprice.com .

Feedback on Vendor Table at 2013 Maidens of Metal II

I had my vendor table and sold /signed some comic books at the MAIDENS OF METAL II - 2013 Show at THE VEX /ARTS L.A. presented by METAL INVICTUS & THE VEX on Saturday, April 6, 2013.

I had some great feedback on the test run of my comic books at a live event. People were excited to see vicious and gory vampires (and the blood and gore) being brought back, and really liked the artwork and thought it was incredible. Everyone I talked to was really glad there was "no sappy romance" in the comic books and that it was action-packed and quite brutal which they wanted to see, and that it was nice to see local bands featured in the comic books. I also had positive comments about my artists' work from other talented artists as well and I thank them for their support and feedback!

Thank you to Metal Invictus, Angie Gabriel and The Vex for having me as a first-time vendor at the show, the bands with female metal musicians were incredible and amazing, the vendors had some awesome merch, and thank you for everyone's support, and I met some great people and new fans too! It was a great experience! :D

With Rachel Solis, bassist of the all-female metal band Harlequin. Check them out! \m/
