About The Comic Book Series:

Lia Scott Price’s Vampire Guardian Angels is a creator-owned comic book series written and created by Horror Author Lia Scott Price. In the series, Guardian Angels from Heaven have become Vampires who kill people who pray for help to them, and both humans and “good” angels have to work to stop them.

What are Vampire Guardian Angels?

When you pray to guardian angels, do you know what they are? What if they were a vicious new breed and hybrid of serial killer, angel and vampire who target those who pray for help to them? Because they are tired of protecting us and want to put us out of our misery, by eating, and enslaving us. Don’t pray to them.

Plot Synopsis

The first issue in the series "The Guardian" introduces the transformation of Guardian Angels into Vampires. An angry Gabriel, sick of answering prayers and protecting humans, targets and kills them. His killing spree is stopped by another Guardian Angel, Cameron, and a young boy, Joseph, who has a mysterious power that kills Gabriel. Gabriel ascends and resurrects back in Heaven, but a Vampire hitchhikes, bites him, invades Heaven, and turns all Guardian Angels into sadistic, invincible Vampires. The vampiric infection spreads and, realizing their newfound power and freedom, the Vampire Guardian AngelsTM are hell bent on seeking revenge against mankind.

The Story:

Prequel: The Beginning. (This is the prequel where Guardian Angels are first introduced as Serial Killers and have not yet become Vampires.)

In the city of Los Angeles, CA, there is a disillusioned Guardian Angel on the loose. He is a serial killer with serious issues (and not yet a Vampire.). He introduces himself as Gabriel, and he hates his job of watching over humans.  He narrates that he's desperate to stop people's prayers, that he's sick of their whining, and that he can't keep up with so many prayers. He admits that he targets only those who are despairing and suicidal and who pray specifically for help to a Guardian Angel. He reveals that he targets them because they are in distress, weak, and are easy victims to kill. However, Gabriel further reveals that he can only kill people by mind control. He can't kill them himself because he is still bound to “protect and serve” humans, and that he's doing this behind Godʼs back. However, he can convince despairing humans to kill themselves and make it look like a suicide or an accident, and to put the blame on the victim. Gabriel is desperate to get humans to "shut the hell up" and stop their goddamned nagging prayers.

Gabriel chooses his first victim. Inside a Los Angeles church, police surrounded a priest with a handgun. The comic series introduces  Detective Jay Kirkland who is trying to negotiate with the suicidal priest. However, Gabriel, only visible to the priest, appears in the background and, using his mind control, convinces the priest by psychic mind control to shoot himself. Kirkland fails to save the priest and blames himself for the failed negotiation.

After the incident, Kirkland sits in the church pews, filled with guilt. Heʼs approached by a man who turns out to be his new partner, Detective Cameron, who reveals photos showing the man in black. Meanwhile, Gabriel continues to target victims. In an East Los Angeles neighborhood, he watches a couple, Lupe and Sal, arguing. He targets the depressed  Sal and psychically convinces the young man to brandish a gun, to try to prompt the police to shoot him, and commit “suicide by cop”. Kirkland rushes to the scene and again tries to negotiate with Sal. But Gabriel appears and Sal is convinced to shoot, and the cops fire back. Cameron leaps in front of Sal to try to save his life, but is too late. Kirkland, convinced that Cameron is dead, is shocked when Cameron is unhurt. Cameron then reveals that he and Gabriel are Guardian Angels, that Gabriel has gone bad, and that Cameron is there to stop him. And while Kirkland blames himself yet again for what he sees as another failed attempt to save someoneʼs life, Gabriel returns to the coupleʼs house and causes Lupe to commit suicide by stabbing herself.

Across from the coupleʼs house, a widow, Christina Urbain, is comforting her depressed son, Joseph, who had a bad dream in which someone died. Christina advises Joseph to pray to his Guardian Angel. Christina, still grieving for her deceased husband, heads to the church, to pray. Both inadvertently summon Gabriel, but he targets Christina first. Gabriel angrily confronts Christina and tells her how heʼs sick of her “whining”, insulting her and her deceased husband. He suddenly reveals he has a sword, but he is struck with a chair by a priest, who saves Christina. Gabriel disappears. Cameron arrives at the scene to question Christina about the attack, and escorts her home.

Plot Synopsis

The second issue, "Revenant", introduces and follows the Vampire Guardian Angels' future leader, Janos, who does not realize he is a reincarnated Vampire Guardian Angel, the son of Gregory, an ancient Vampire Guardian Angel, and the Vampire Countess Elizabeth Bathory. Janos is stalked by Gregory who tries to convince his son that his destiny is to become the leader of the Vampire Guardian AngelsTM.

Sneak Preview: Issue 2

The Story:

On Earth, back in the 15th Century, a Guardian angel, Gregory, sees a vision of the future of Heaven in a dream. Gabriel, now a Vampire in Heaven is biting all the other angels in a bloody, vicious rampage, turning them into Vampire Guardian Angels™.

Gabriel kills Angels who refuse to become Vampires. It turns out that Gregory, already a Vampire but who is stuck on Earth, has been trying to find a way back to Heaven to turn all the angels into Vampires, but his dreams of Heaven many centuries into the future reveal that Gabriel will be the one to do it. Gregory is one of the first Guardian Angels to rebel, and like Gabriel, is sick of answering human prayers. He has produced a son, Janos, with the Vampire Countess Elizabeth Bathory, but the child is stillborn. Gregory tells the distraught Countess that the dead child will reincarnate and become leader of the Vampire Guardian Angels.

Many centuries into the future, a grown-up Janos, now a college student in Brooklyn, New York, finds himself constantly drawn to Churches where he hears multiple voices asking for help, praying to their Guardian Angel, even though none of these peopleʼs lips are moving and no one is talking to him, but he sees them covered in blood. He also sees Angel statues coming to life. He is getting increasingly distraught that he is hearing and seeing things, and tends to stay out all night, which leads to friction between Janos and his girlfriend, Leah, who lives with him.

Meanwhile, a confused and worried Leah is stalked by Gregory, who, being immortal,  has followed the progress of his son well into the present day.  Janos dreams about Gregory attacking Leah, and, disturbed by the dream, his visions, and the voices, seeks help from the campus psychiatrist, Dr. Harold Lieberman, who only prescribes medication for him. Janos, angry that the psychiatrist cannot help him, storms out.

Janos does not realize that he is really a Vampire Guardian Angel who goes into a trance when he hears prayers of despair. He tracks the voices and feeds off women on campus who pray to their Guardian Angel. This was the reason he stayed out all night, but he does not remember anything the next morning.  (Continued pages 11-23)

Plot Synopsis

In the fourth issue, Resurrection: Afterlife, a resurrected but horribly disfigured Gabriel seeks revenge on Joseph, the little boy whose mysterious power sent him back to Heaven. Flashbacks tell the story of how Cameron accidentally killed Joseph's mother and how Joseph was bitten by Cameron and is not yet aware that he is a Vampire. A guilt-ridden Cameron and his former detective partner, Kirkland, work to protect a now-adult Joseph from Gabriel.

Sneak Preview: Issue 4

The Story:

The comic book starts off with a flashback to Joseph as a young child and how he and Cameron were responsible for Gabriel's death, and how he sent Gabriel back to Heaven with a mysterious power of light. It also reveals and gives a back story on how Cameron became a Vampire (from Dominion, Book 3), and how he acted as Joseph's stepfather while dating his mother Christina. Cameron follows Gabriel through the portal of light that remained after Gabriel ascended to deliver him back to Heaven. However, he finds that Heaven has been invaded by a Vampire, and that Gabriel has rapidly turned into a Vampire. Gabriel proceeds to bite all the other angels, turning them into Vampires. Heaven becomes a bloody mess. Gabriel bites Cameron, who falls back to Earth through the still-open portal, sparing him from burning up.

But Gabriel tries to follow without the portal, and as the light dies, he burns but survives, becoming horribly disfigured. Gabriel has a reason to risk the descent and go back, because he wants to kill Joseph. He wants revenge.

Cameron is united with Christina, but he ends up turning into a Vampire and killing her. Cameron ends up biting a young Joseph in his sleep.

Years later, Joseph is visiting his mother's grave, and has been searching for his mother's killer for years and suffers from anger issues. (Continued Pages 11-26)

The third issue, "Dominion", focuses on the origins of the Vampire Guardian Angels and their existence in the Bible. They were hidden by the Church, who fed sinners to them.  An author discovers this secret through her research. The Author, a Detective, and the Guardian Angel Cameron, now a Vampire, work to stop them.

Sneak Preview: Issue 3

The Story:

Back in the 14th Century there were originally four Guardian Angels who were bitten by Earth Vampires, the predecessors to Gabriel. Unable to get back to Heaven, they roamed the Earth until the Church sheltered them, secretly hiding their existence through vague references of blood drinking in the Bible. Fearing them and thinking they were gods, the Church called these Vampires "Angels". One, Gregory, (who would be Janosʼs father), fled to Transylvania and was sheltered by the Vampire Countess Elizabeth Bathory. The remaining three Angels were hidden by the Church in Italy. They were used by the Inquisition, who fed “sinners” to them. However, the Vampire Guardian Angels, Zeke, Anthony, and Jude, grew tired of their captivity, and escaped, with weapons.

Meanwhile, centuries later, in the present day in Los Angeles CA, an author, Ms. Price, dreams the three Vampire Guardian Angels try to kidnap her in a Church. It is revealed that she has actually done research focusing on the existence of Vampire Guardian Angels in the Bible, and is convinced that because of her dream, they are real.

The Vampire Guardian Angels, who are looking for the author who they consider their “creator”, kill their first victim in the city. The murder is investigated by Detective Costa, who finds black feathers at the murder scene.

The Vampire Guardian Angels target patients in hospitals, feeding off of them, and they are gaining followers consisting of Earth Vampires. The Earth Vampires accept the Vampire Guardian Angels as their new leaders as long as they are fed humans and taken care of. (Continued Pages 11-23)

“THE GUARDIAN, REVENANT, AND DOMINION”
VAMPIRE TRILOGY BOOK

This Vampire Book Contains R-Rated, Explicit Material. Over 18 only.

Original Novel (Purchase Hard Copy and Downloads)

By Lia Scott Price

Warning: If you believe in Guardian Angels, you may be creeped out by the image of Guardian Angels that Lia Scott Price presents.  It's too disturbing for the mainstream to accept that a pop culture icon such as a Guardian Angel can be anything else but good. Lia Scott Price's works give an alternate view on why we should not rely on a supernatural, higher power to always save us. This is a fictional story in a what-if world, where Guardian Angels are capable of doing everything you thought they would never do.

Lia Scott Price's "The Guardian, Revenant, and Dominion" is a Vampire Trilogy Book consisting of 3 continuous stories featuring her Serial Killer and Vampire Guardian Angels. This is the book Lia turns into a comic book series and the original trilogy novel that the comic books are based on.

Note: This is not the comic book. This is the full-length paperback novel.   There are 3 stories in the trilogy novel. (“The Guardian”, (prequel)  “Revenant”, and “Dominion”) that started the comic book series (the novel was turned into a comic book using the first three stories). The rest of the trilogy novel sequels are now in comic book format: (sequels) “Resurrection: Afterlife”, “Rule of Blood”, and “Immortal's Reliquary”.

The novel does contain some "romance" scenes  but they are more of just a backdrop to the story and not the main theme. The "romance" scenes were left out of the comic book series, or if used, they were just part of the scene or a backstory (since this is not a "romantic" vampire novel or comic book series).

Note: **Lia Scott Price appears as a character in Dominion, Book 3**

The Guardian, Book 1: THE BEGINNING. A Disillusioned Guardian Angel Becomes a Serial Killer.

Set in Los Angeles, CA, The Guardian is the first story in the series. Guardian Angels first become Serial Killer Guardian AngelsTM and are not yet Vampires. The Guardian Angel Gabriel hates his job of answering people's prayers but can't get out of it, but he finds a way to rebel.  He's desperate to stop people's prayers because he's sick of their whining, and he can't keep up with so many prayers, so he becomes a Serial Killer. He targets only those who are despairing and suicidal and who pray specifically for help to a Guardian Angel, because they are easy victims to kill. He hates that fact that people rely on and expect a higher power to save them. But he can only kill people by hypnotic suggestion and mind control. He can't kill them himself since he is still bound to protect and serve, but he can convince them to kill themselves and make it look like a suicide or an accident, and to put the blame on the victim. Gabriel reasons that he is removing the weak and the "undesirables" from the population. Gabriel first targets the clergy because of his growing hatred of them. Then he moves onto attacking people. Gabriel attacks a young woman, Christina, in a church but a priest saves her. Christina reports the incident to a Los Angeles Detective, Kirkland. Detective Kirkland is assigned a new partner, Cameron, who is an undercover Guardian Angel sent to stop Gabriel. Cameron tries to convince Kirkland who Gabriel is and how to stop him. Cameron tells Kirkland that the only thing that can kill a bad Guardian is a Guardian that is good, or who has turned back to good. Christina falls in love with Cameron, and becomes a target for Gabriel's vengeance. Gabriel goes after Christina's young son, Joseph, who prayed to a Guardian Angel, but Christina and Joseph are protected by Cameron. Cameron confronts and fights Gabriel, who retreats. Gabriel in the meantime is having flashbacks which reveals the motive for his killings. As a young boy, he was sent by the Church on a crusade and sacrificed as a child soldier. He had called for his Guardian Angel and for God to save him, but he was killed instead, and he became a Guardian Angel, and has resented the role of being forced to save humans ever since, when he himself had been allowed to die. Gabriel kills a prayer group, and goes after Joseph again, killing his babysitter, and holds Christina hostage. But when Christina breaks free, Gabriel lures Joseph to him, but discovers that Joseph somehow has the power to telepathically communicate with Gabriel. Joseph's mysterious power causes Gabriel to die a fiery death, and is Gabriel is turned back into a child angel. Gabriel ascends back into Heaven.

Revenant, Book 2: Guardian Angels Become Vampires, and Murderers.

The second story in the series is set in New York,  and is the sequel to The Guardian Book 1. In this book, Guardian Angels become Vampire Guardian AngelsTM. The Guardian Angel Gabriel, who was killed in Book 1, reincarnated as a child angel and ascended back to Heaven. However, an Earth Vampire, seeing a chance to infiltrate Heaven, latched on to Gabriel and ascended with him. The Vampire proceeded to attack all the inhabitants of Heaven and turned all Guardian Angels into Vampires. One such Guardian-Angel-Turned Vampire was Gregory, who stalks a student, Janos. Janos hears voices crying out for help wherever he goes, and suffers from insomnia. He thinks he is going crazy. Gregory soon reveals to Janos that long before a Vampire invaded Heaven and turned Heaven's Guardian Angels into Vampires, Vampire Guardian Angels already existed on Earth. They were Guardian Angels working among humans who were bitten by Earth Vampires. Their existence was hidden in symbolic passages in the Bible that implied Angels were killing and drinking blood. Those were the first Vampire Guardian Angels who, while on Earth, were worshiped as Gods and given the name "Angels" and who were hidden and fed by the Church, using victims taken by the Inquisition. They could not return to Heaven so they remained on Earth, and all the Guardian Angels left in heaven were still good and not yet Vampires prior to Gabriel's ascension. Gregory reveals further that he is one of those Vampire Guardian Angels from biblical times, and that he fathered Janos through a bloodthirsty ancient Countess, Elizabeth Bathory. Janos was born a stillborn many centuries ago but was reincarnated into modern times. Gregory insists that Janos was created to become the chosen leader and gatekeeper who must open a portal to let in the new race of Vampire Guardian Angels from Heaven to take over mankind.  Gregory tells Janos that the voices he hears are people's prayers of despair, and that Janos is actually not only a Guardian Angel himself, but also a Vampire. Janos unknowingly follows the voices like a beacon, kills and feeds off the victim, in a sort of sleep-state, but does not remember anything. He often leaves the victims still alive, but Gregory, always following him, finishes them off and hides the bodies, sometimes making it look like a suicide or an accident to throw off any suspicions (The M.O. of a Serial Killer and Vampire Guardian Angel). Janos learns that Vampire Guardian Angels now have loyal followers, the Earth Vampires, who are eagerly awaiting their arrival and the takeover of humans who they plan to use for food. This new breed of Guardian Angel-turned-Vampire can now touch and kill their victims in addition to mind control, seduce, and kill their female victims,  are seemingly invincible, and have promised to provide food and riches to the Earth Vampires if they work for them. Janos, however, starts to rebel, repulsed by who he is and  what he has done and by what the Angels plan to do. Janos also becomes increasingly alienated from his girlfriend Leah. So Gregory kidnaps Leah as a backup plan and takes her, with the intentions of forcing her to produce another "leader" in case Janos continues to rebel. Gregory tries to kill Janos, but two New York detectives intervene and shoot Gregory, and Gregory disappears after falling off the Brooklyn Bridge. The twist in the ending opens up the novel for the third book in the series.

Excerpt:

Dominion, Book 3: Vampire Guardian Angels plan to enslave and breed humans for food.

The third story in the series is set in Torrance, CA, and is the follow-up story to Revenant Book 2.  The 3rd book is written in "Bible" format and in the narrative form of the author who created the Vampire Guardian Angels, each chapter consisting of "readings" just like in the Bible. The Author writes that she is having strange dreams of Angels killing people, and in her dreams she is being raped by a Guardian Angel with fangs. The dreams are messages revealing that Vampire Guardian Angels existed in the Bible, worshiped, hidden, and fed human victims by the Church and the Inquisition. The Author thinks that this secret is hidden in the Bible due to the many references to blood-drinking and of angels killing humans. She finds that the Church called these Vampires "Angels", and created the inquisition to hunt down sinners to feed to the Vampires.   The Author's Vampire Guardian Angels have come to life from her book, since as the "Creator", her writing has given them power to live, simply by her belief in them. Guardian Angels from biblical times had been bitten by Vampires, and went into hiding, disguised as life-sized Guardian Angel statues in churches and cemeteries. The author's strong belief in them awakens them, brings them out of hiding, and they want the world to know they exist. Meanwhile, mysterious murders and suicides are happening all over Torrance. Targeting the despairing and the suicidal, the Vampire Guardian Angels  on Earth make their killings look like suicides. The book goes deeper into the motives and personalities of each of the Guardians. The Angels have more expanded weaponry because they think biting necks involves too much struggle and it's easier just to cut open an artery. They also use the weapons as self-defense. They have grown much more powerful, though some of the Angels can now choose whether or not to be Vampires.  The Vampire Guardian Angels can also procreate with humans, and they breed humans for food. The Author herself is kidnapped by a Guardian Angel. A Torrance Detective, Costa, runs into a Vampire Guardian Angel, Cameron, who became evil,  was once a good angel, and who had originally killed the Guardian Angel Gabriel (Book 1) who was responsible for all the Guardian Angels in Heaven becoming Vampires. Cameron tells Costa that the original Vampire Guardian Angels from biblical times who were already on Earth are waiting for the rest of the Vampire Guardian Angels from Heaven and are plotting to take over mankind because they no longer want to be servants to man. They want to enslave both Earth Vampires and humans and breed the humans as food. But they cannot take over the Earth Vampires until they bring in all the remaining Vampire Guardian Angels from Heaven to Earth through a supernatural portal.  Janos (Book 2) had already opened the portal within a New York cathedral as a "test run" to see if it worked and could only allow seven Archangels to pass back and forth, in order to prepare for the takeover. If the rest of the Vampire Guardian Angels from Heaven tried to enter Earth without the portal, or through the infant portal that was not yet ready, they would assume hideous forms and become fallen angels without power. The Angel Zeke was ordered to open the portal from the Earth side in any church while Janos waited in Heaven. The Earth Vampires, awaiting the arrival of the Vampire Guardian Angels from Heaven, have already agreed to an arrangement in which the Vampire Guardian Angels will be their new masters and will be provided with food and protection since the Vampire Guardian Angels are more powerful and cannot be destroyed (except by another Guardian that turns back to good).  As the Vampire Guardian Angels continue to seek out people who pray in despair and feed on them, the author and the detective, along with help from Cameron who is slowly turning back to good,  work to stop the angels from opening the portal. Cameron and Costa manage to destroy the infant portal and kill some of the Angels. Cameron disappears, and the Angels retreat, but with a message that they will not give up in their quest to take over mankind.
