About The Comic Book Series: Lia Scott Price's Vampire Guardian Angels is a creator-owned comic book series written and created by Horror Author Lia Scott Price. It is drawn by Artist Andrew Setter, with Colorist/Letterer Chad Hammontree.  In the series, Guardian Angels from Heaven have become Vampires who kill people who pray for help to them, and both humans and “good” angels have to work to stop them.

Plot Synopsis: In the fourth issue, Resurrection: Afterlife, a resurrected but horribly disfigured Gabriel seeks revenge on Joseph, the little boy whose mysterious power sent him back to Heaven. Flashbacks tell the story of how Cameron accidentally killed Joseph's mother and how Joseph was bitten by Cameron and is not yet aware that he is a Vampire. A guilt-ridden Cameron and his former detective partner, Kirkland, work to protect a now-adult Joseph from Gabriel.

 Plot Synopsis: The third issue, "Dominion", focuses on the origins of the Vampire Guardian Angels and their existence in the Bible. They were hidden by the Church, who fed sinners to them. An author discovers this secret through her research. The three vengeful angels, wanting dominion over man, go on a killing spree as they wait for the vampire invasion of Heaven and for the coming of their new leader.  Plot Synopsis: The second issue, "Revenant", introduces and follows the Vampire Guardian Angels' future leader, Janos, who does not realize he is a reincarnated Vampire Guardian Angel, the son of Gregory, an ancient Vampire Guardian Angel, and the Vampire Countess Elizabeth Bathory.  Plot Synopsis: The first issue in the series "The Guardian" introduces the transformation of Guardian Angels into Vampires. An angry Gabriel, sick of answering prayers and protecting humans, targets and kills them. His killing spree is stopped by another Guardian Angel, Cameron, and a young boy, Joseph, who has a mysterious power that kills Gabriel. Gabriel ascends and resurrects back in Heaven, but a Vampire hitchhikes, bites him, invades Heaven, and turns all Guardian Angels into sadistic, invincible Vampires. The vampiric infection spreads and, realizing their newfound power and freedom, the Vampire Guardian AngelsTM are hell bent on seeking revenge against mankind. About Lia Scott Price and Her Vampire Guardian Angels

My name is Lia Scott Price. I'm a horror author and  comic book creator/writer.

I'm the creator of Vampire Guardian Angels™. They are my unique characters from my vampire comic book series, also called "Vampire Guardian Angels™ ".

In my comic book series, Guardian Angels are a new breed of brutal, bloody, disturbing, vicious and seemingly invincible Vampire.

What makes them different and unique are two things: They are serial killers who can only target those who summon them through prayers of despair, and they cannot respond to "happy or thankful" prayers. You have to specifically summon or call to them for help, and you have to be in dire need. That's what attracts them, and that's how they find their food---basically, humans.

The second is that they are basically invincible.  They cannot be killed by traditional means such as sunlight, holy water or crucifixes because they are already "holy" in origin. The only thing that kills them...well, you have to read the comic book series.

So do you really know who you're praying to? Because we really don't know  what a guardian angel really is. I'm exploring an alternate side to them. My works are meant to question people's belief in a supernatural, supposedly higher power and why we rely so much on some unseen being to save us. What if it really was evil, like an evil vampire. Horror is about stretching the imagination, and this is what I do in my comic books.

In my comic book series, even the Guardian Angels question their image as protectors of mankind, and rebel against their "job". They have become evil vampires  so they don't have to deal with human whining and begging and so they can stop being therapists. As an added bonus, they can feed on humans.

As a horror writer, it’s my job to screw things up a bit, such as making the image of a guardian angel more disturbing.  My goal is also to bring back the more bloodthirsty, violent, and gory Vampire, the classic evil, scary vampire. I want people to be afraid of vampires again. And I hope I've done that.

Why Churches Creep Me Out

Why do churches creep me out? Well, they actually do inspire my writing. Churches  have always filled me with dread. The really old ones especially give me chills,  and inspiration for horror. I've always seen churches as places where unseen ghostly spirits (think "Holy Ghost") and the supernatural (Angels, dead saints) are invoked for forgiveness, out of fear of eternal punishment for "sinning". In some ancient churches, there are crypts and catacombs filled with dead bodies, and relics made of .... body parts . Who wouldn't be creeped out by that?

What scared me the most were life-sized statues and paintings depicting people covered in blood, pierced by arrows and spears, nailed on crosses, being beheaded, or torn apart by wild animals, their faces with looks of agony and suffering. And the reading of the Bible in churches as the biggest horror novel of all, with genocides, infanticides, Angels killing, drinking of blood and eating of bodies, resurrected corpses, torture by the inquisition, beheadings, etc. All in the name of supernatural beings that supposedly "save" us.

But Churches are where my Vampire Guardian Angels grew up, and often hide, and now they carry on what the inquisition used to do. And they certainly don't need medieval torture devices.  If you see a life-sized Angel statue, look closely to see if they are breathing, or if there's blood on their lips. Or fangs.
