Lia Scott Price Releases Cover of Issue 6 of her Vampire Guardian Angels Comic Book Series

Horror author Lia Scott Price gives a sneak peek at the completed cover of Issue 6 of her Vampire Guardian Angels comic book series. The new issue, entitled "Immortal's Reliquary", features artwork by the new member of her creative team, artist Andrew Huerta, and color by artist Chad Hammontree.

Starting with Issue 6, the comic books will have an entirely new look (while still remaining bloody and gory), featuring interior artwork drawn by Price and inked by Huerta, with text by Chad Hammontree. For those familiar with Price's comics, there are changes to the creative team, with the departure of previous artist Andrew Setter (Issues 1-5).

Price will be the new artist, under the drawing instruction and guidance of Huerta, who is also the inker for the issue and currently Price's drawing instructor. "I'm grateful for all the hard work and talent that Andrew (Setter) has put in to the first 5 issues and I wish him well." says Price. "This has also given me a chance to learn how to draw my own comic books, and I am really grateful to be working with Andrew Huerta, who is an amazing artist." Hammontree remains the colorist and letterer for the series.

Price will be releasing Issue 6 at Stan Lee's Comikaze 2016.

Vampire Guardian Angels is a creator-owned, independent and original horror-action comic book series written and created by Horror Author Lia Scott Price. It features a disturbing world where Guardian Angels have become vicious vampires and serial killers who hunt down humans who pray to them. They enslave both humans and vampires and fight over a "creator" who holds the power of regeneration and the healing of angels, and only one "good" angel remains to fight them, and both humans and "earth" vampires must also try to work together to stop them.

Price appears as a character in the series.

Indie Horror Comic Offers Fresh Take on Vampire Mythos

Lia Scott Price's New Comic Book Release: Vampire Guardian Angels: “Rule of Blood” (Issue 5)

Back in 2012, horror author Lia Scott Price created her first comic book project, the Vampire Guardian Angels Comic Book Series. It’s a horror comics written by Price, who gave a fresh, original and disturbing new twist to the vampire genre. In the comic books, drawn by artist Andrew Setter and colorist Chad Hammontree, Price has essentially created a new breed of vampire: guardian angels who have been bitten by, and turned into, vampires, but who are still guardian angels, and who still have to respond to prayers, making them a kind of evil vampire-angel hybrid serial killer.  However, they can only be summoned by those who pray for help to a guardian angel. Price’s terrifying vampire is, in short, a guardian angel who’s turned deadly, and eats you instead of helps you. But it’s also a comic book that aims to feature vampires as the classic brutal, vicious, merciless, bloodthirsty, violent, and gory monster.

Now, in 2015, there are currently 5 completed and published issues in the series. “Rule of Blood” is the 5th, just-released issue this year. In the 5th issue, a mysterious virus is attacking both humans and Vampire Guardian Angels. Janos, their new ruler, must find a cure. He sets up a "breeding program"  to repopulate his breed and provide virus-free humans for food, while he and the angels battle it out for leadership over humans and each other. Price also plays a character in the series. It’s a bloody, gory series done in black and white crime-noir style with splashes of bright red for bloody effect.

Issue 5’s initial release was online and is currently distributed through amazon and amazon kindle.  On Halloween, Price will hold the issue’s main book signing in Booth 749, West Hall, LA Convention center at Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo 2015 (comikazeexpo.com).
